I Am Your Friend: A Word on House Plants & Relationships that Last

I personally cannot think of anything that is more humbling and heartwarming than these words “I AM a Friend that is closer than any brother.” That is exactly what I heard as I waited for the LORD to bless me with a word to share. Before we go any further, I would like you to take a moment a read a short blog entry I wrote around 2007: “Here is something just for us all to think about…all of us have relationships with others, be it family, friends or romantic…but there is a simple thing that I came to realize about relationships no matter what the nature; Relationships are like house plants, they keep our air clean and they cast a certain beauty to a place where beauty was lacking. House plants require things in order to flourish. They need proper sunlight and water…among other things but these two things are very necessary. “I AM a Friend that is closer than any brother.” Thus says the LORD In a relationship, you are either going to …

Tell Them I Love Them: The Most Everlasting of Loves

“The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.” ~JEREMIAH 31:3 This message is simple. It is not full of scripture or analogy. It does not use metaphors are large words. However, it is the most Powerful message of all. Not only that, but as we embark on what is supposed to be the most romantic months of the year, and yet, one of the most lonely, I feel compelled to share this with you. Many years ago, as I meditated in prayer and waited for the LORD to send me a Word to share with the Body of Christ, I kept hearing Him say, “The Word will come.” Actually,  I had been waiting and praying for a word for quite some time and He continued to give me the same response. “The Word will come.” When the Word finally did come it was so compelling and again so simple that I had no choice but to open my …

Jesus’ Intent For Us All: Faith for Creatives

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” ~JEREMIAH 29:11 Things happen in life that are often times out of our control and more times than not outside of the will of God, even though He may allow them to happen. The goodness that we are blessed to drink and rest in, comes from the immutable truth that God is not surprised by the happenings of life, nor is He unable to take any circumstance and recycle it for our good (ISAIAH 61:3). Blessedly, that is exactly what He desires to do! Even from the very fall of man in the Garden of Eden, the Lord had already set up a plan for us all for our good, out of His abundant grace! Luke 2:14 encourages us that He delights in giving and pouring out His goodwill upon us all. “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” Be encouraged and rest in these truths …

A Tale as Old as Time: Revelation in Relationship by Charlie Louthen

I think it’s important to share that I did not want to write this article. I literally tried twice to disqualify myself to Candice and to myself numerous times. But Papa (Christ Jesus) continuously tugged at my heart to do it. Why was I so resistant? I narrowed it down to one reason. Fear. Why was I afraid? 1. How do you write something on a topic so deeply personal like a hard break-up with care and consideration for the other party involved when you were hurt by their actions? 2. How do you help others with forgiveness when you are not fully healed? I prayed for days on these two questions and got wise counsel from close friends. In the end, the answer was simple. Truth and grace. The truth is sometimes God will give you exactly what you want so that He can show you what you really need. This is biblically accurate. He gave the Israelites a king when they begged Him for it. He even told them all the horrible things …

A Heart You Can Trust: Faith for Creatives

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” ~EZEKIEL 36:26 The Lord, through the New Covenant of Grace, enacted by Christ’s finished work on the cross and subsequent resurrection, has given each of us who believe in Him a new heart! And this is not just any heart, but a heart shaped like His and filled with His desires. That old stony, deceptive heart, that often was guided by the draw of our sin nature (JEREMIAH 17:9), He has removed. If there is a desire burning in your heart and your heart is indeed Christ’s, trust it. Trust the purpose and plan that He is stirring up within you. And if you are still uncertain, take it to Him and lay it at His precious feet, knowing that He will settle matters within you. Trust how He moves your heart with confidence in His love and shedding of all fear because of …

Be Loved: The Passion of Christ’s Pursuit

“I can touch more than the hem of Your Garment. I can touch Your heart.” ~Candice Coates Messiah Yeshua, Jesus Christ, the Mighty Right Hand of God, God Himself, the Creator of all and the Lord of all, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, The Mighty King…made Himself humble just to be near to us. How great the depth of His love, often misunderstood, often misrepresented. But His light is too fierce for darkness to overshadow. His love is too tenacious and open for us all in Spirit, Grace, and Truth to be denied. His passion on the cross is the evidence of His pursuit of you and me. Even in our sins when we were counted as enemies Christ chose to step into the darkness to draw us back to His heart with His cleansing light.  “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” ~ROMANS 5:8 NIV No matter where you may find yourself, be it on the outside of faith looking in, secure …
