The Wonder & Awe of God’s Love for Us

“Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord; 2 Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive To the voice of my supplications. 3 If You, Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? 4 But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared.” ~PSALM 130:1-4 Some translations of Psalm 130:3-4 say, “If You keep account of sins, O LORD, Lord, who will survive? Yours is the power to forgive so that You may be held in awe.” Awe means to have a fealing of wonder and reverance even to the point of fear. When we consider all that Christ, our Savior, God and King did for us in His perfect love, how He has transformed us and loved us with an everlasting, unwavering, unfailing, unmerited love, one can do nothing short of be in awe. The Lord through the finished work of Christ has delivered us from the curse of the law but has also carried away our sins and remembers our lawless deeds no longer (HEBREWS …

Jesus, the Oil of Joy: A Poem by Briana Lassiter

This is a poem about the symbolic oil of Joy that is made from Myrhh and only offers it’s sweet scent once it’s been crushed. Joy on the inside, joy from within. This is joy; the joy you win. Crushed and bruised, this is released, the oil of joy, the oil of peace. The joy You’ve put into me cultivated with care, now is released. It is all you, Jesus my joy. Strength, peace, confirming, fighting, killing, declaring. These are the things that joy enables when crushed beyond belief. This is it! This is the way, this is joy. A heart that is white, a heart that is clean, a heart that is trusting, what is unseen. Friendship and love, never-ending, not losing, This is the oil, pour it over everything *Photo by MI PHAM on Unsplash By Briana Lassiter I’m married to my dearest friend of 8 years and mom to an energetic 6-year-old. My greatest joys come from traveling with my little family, cooking for appreciative recipients, learning herbalism and natural medicine, and every experience I …

The Truest of Love & Purest of Light

“In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.” ~I JOHN 4:9 I had the pleasure of reading an Instagram post by Jenna Kutcher talking about the glorious moment of giving birth to her new little girl, Conley Kutcher. What struck me was her poignant honesty, the questions that were on her heart concerning motherhood, love-at-first-sight, the revelation of being a mother, all of it. As I read her words and felt my eyes prick with tears of joy for her and the longing of my own heart for the blessing of sharing in a moment like hers, was the truth of how the God of all creation loves us. He loves us without question. He loves us in our mess. He loves us even when we are not only hateful to others but to Him. He loves us. There is an instant love that He has for us, an unwavering love, an unconditional love. The Love that …

Song of Strength: Musical Interlude

I realize that we each live in seasons of life; joy or sadness, pain or pleasure, peace or war, soundness or confusion, seasons that differ from the person next to us.  In the spirit of that knowledge, I share this song for those who are in a season of pain and sorrow, or confusion, whatever it may be, to encourage your heart in the Love of Yeshua Jesus. God knows, He cares and He is with you. The book of Psalms 126 says, he who sows in tears shall reap in gladness. The Word promises to turn our mourning into dancing. (Psalm 30) So don’t give up. Don’t give in. Keep trusting God and wrest in His loving embrace. ~Poiema Poetry in Motion what do you do when the life you planned is shattered and what do you say when the one you love is gone how do live seems like no hope for tomorrow pain doesnt care where you live or who you are[chorus:] Lord you see my life is broken and i dont know …
