Start with a Seed: Start Here pt 1

“…Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” -MATTHEW 20:17b When a person sets out to give life to their dream or vision, or even to undertake a project that is relevant for that season of their life, one thing they do without fail is to take stock of what they have in hand. Our Master and Savior, the King Creator, actually instructs us in His Word that a wise man takes inventory of what he has before he begins, lest when he starts he finds he is unable to finish (LUKE 14:28-29). The one thing that many of us find paralyzing about this is that when we do actually take inventory of what we have, we tend to lean on our own understanding, often stifling the voice of the Lord that is telling us to begin, in favor of believing what our eyes and logic …

A Heart You Can Trust: Faith for Creatives

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” ~EZEKIEL 36:26 The Lord, through the New Covenant of Grace, enacted by Christ’s finished work on the cross and subsequent resurrection, has given each of us who believe in Him a new heart! And this is not just any heart, but a heart shaped like His and filled with His desires. That old stony, deceptive heart, that often was guided by the draw of our sin nature (JEREMIAH 17:9), He has removed. If there is a desire burning in your heart and your heart is indeed Christ’s, trust it. Trust the purpose and plan that He is stirring up within you. And if you are still uncertain, take it to Him and lay it at His precious feet, knowing that He will settle matters within you. Trust how He moves your heart with confidence in His love and shedding of all fear because of …

Talking with Your Mouth Full: You Are What You Eat pt 4

“Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.” ~I PETER 2:1-3 NKJV In a letter of encouragement, the Apostle Peter writes that we, like newborn babes, should desire the pure milk of the word and grow in that. But let’s do a bit of backtracking in the word, recognizing that I Peter as one stream of thought in entirety and not segmented chapters. With that being said, what was Peter’s statement to the Body of Believers prior to chapter two verses one through three? “Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, because, “All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away, But the word of the Lord endures forever.” Now this is the …

Road to the Heart: A Quote

The quickest road to the heart is the ear.” ~Voltaire As much as every human has a need for physical closeness and touch, so too, do we need the closeness of intimacy via being heard. When we make the extra effort to not only ‘hear’ what those closest to us are saying, but actually ‘listen,’ we express one of the greatest forms of intimacy and care. When we listen to others we are showing them that they are important, that we value their hearts. Take the time to listen to the ones you love. You don’t always have to agree, but listening, truly listening, aids in keeping relational harmony, and we all want that. ~Dream. Imagine. Believe. Do. CONQUER!
