The Rewards of Resting & Waiting

“God never hurries. There are no deadlines against which He must work. Only to know this is to quiet our spirits and relax our nerves.” ~A.W Tozer (PSALM 23) Take a moment and read Psalm 23.  I know that most of us reading this article have been blessed to have already read, time and again, the wisdom and prophetic prayer of King David, the Shepherd after God’s own heart. But have you taken the time to read it in the context of struggle? Have you read it through the perspective of process, or transition? Here is David, a man dedicated to the perfect will, way, and call of God upon His life being bounced from one injustice and battle to another, beginning his prayer and praise to the Lord with these very words, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.” You may think, well that’s beautiful, especially when you continue to read the next few verses: “He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me …

Cari Burns: Creative in Action

Interview by Bri Lassiter I am so happy to introduce this month’s Creative In Action, Cari Burns! I personally have been blessed by Cari’s ministry and as I read her story, I’m reminded of the truth that when you obey, you will always be blessed. Caris story, (like all of ours,) is not done yet. And while I’m excited we get to read about the chapter she is in, I am even more excited that as she is prophesying with her life of the goodness and favor of the Lord and proving that when you step out in faith you will be blessed and multiplied greatly. Like many of us who have sown for a long time, she is about to step out into yet more of the abundance that God designed for her ministry. And just like Cari, as we work with the Lord in the plans He has for our future, He takes us to an end that is better than anything we could imagine for ourselves as He dumps on us the …

Victory Before the Battle: Being Undevourable

Colossians 2:13-15, “And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” Yours is the victory! Christ Jesus has set you free from every enemy and every issue that could and would rise against you (ISAIAH 53). Your job is to believe it! Satan, the enemy of our souls–our souls i.e our minds, because if he can get us to believe lies then he can shift the trajectory of our lives to live lies, far outside of the redemptive promises of God and Christ even though we are saved–is fighting a battle he has already lost. But if you don’t realize he is defeated, you become devourable (I PETER 5:8.) Our enemy is fighting with broken …

The Audacity of STANDING: Faith for Creatives

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. ~EPHESIANS 6:13  When we set out on our journey to take steps in faith, to accomplish something that is outside of our comfort zone, we are essentially waging war, not only with our own flesh and fears but with the enemy of our souls. When we make the decision that, no matter what, no matter how long it takes, no matter the cost, no matter the odds, we will obtain the promise and manifest vision birthed inside of us, it is then that we are operating in audacious and tenacious faith. Sometimes this faith requires quick forward moving, but often times, it requires committed standing, continuing to ’till the soil’ of our creative venture with faith that we will soon see a harvest. It is no wonder that in our standing and waiting, we become targets of attack. This is why we are instructed to put on the full armor of God …

Good To Me: A Music Interlude

Psalm 63:3-6 Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches.” ~Poiema, Poetry in Motion
