Future Planning & Godly Direction

“I had big plans for the future, but the future had bigger plans for me.” ~CANDICE COATES The book of Proverbs tells us that man makes plans but God’s purpose is what stands (PROVERBS 19:21). In the book of Jeremiah, the Lord states that He knows the thoughts and plans He has for our future, thoughts to prosper us and give us hope and a good end (JEREMIAH 29:11). Knowing these things it’s easy to take your stance on one of two sides of a coin; either to plan without including God or to make no plan at all and expect Him to do all the work. What Proverbs and Jeremiah are saying together is that yes, we should make plans but we have to leave room for God to do His thing in us too. We have to let Him lead and edit our steps for the best results. Isaiah even says that His Spirit will instruct us in the way to walk in (ISAIAH 30:21). Ephesians agrees with this notion, that when we share our plans …

Creatively Established

“You have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all have knowledge (know the truth.)” ~I JOHN 2:20 When God calls you to something, He has predestined, pre-equipped you, for what He has called you to do, giving you the wisdom to walk in what He has created you for. (JEREMIAH 1:4-5) So, as Colossians 3:15 says, we should let peace, His peace, reign in our hearts, to which we were called in One Body and be thankful. We should be thankful even when we don’t quite understand the path, trusting that He makes our way straight. For creating us, He called us, calling us, He equipped us. Equipping us He establishes us. What does it mean to be established mean? It means to show or prove something to be true, sound, long-lasting. Our Heavenly Father has established us in FAITH in CHRIST to accomplish what He has put in us to do…to create, and He further establishes us as we ever grow in faith! (COlOSSIANS 2:6-10, PSALM 37:23) So keep believing, keep pressing, …

Paths MADE Straight: Faith for Creatives

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” ~PROVERBS 3:5-6  Some translations of this scripture say, “He shall make straight your paths.” Both of these translations lend great confidence to the glory we have in trusting in the Lord and allowing Him to be our trust even as He has authored and finished our faith. Jeremiah 17:7-9, says, “The person who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence indeed is the Lord, is blessed. He will be like a tree planted by water: it sends its roots out toward a stream, it doesn’t fear when heat comes, and its foliage remains green. It will not worry in a year of drought or cease producing fruit.” (CSB) We, as creatives, we as His children by faith, actively creating in faith, have confidence not only in the person of our God, Jesus Christ, but have Him as our Confidence. Each step we take toward our path of purpose is a step we …
