Todd Polyniak: Creative in Action

Interview by Briana Lassiter What a privilege it was for me to interview prophetic artist Todd Polyniak this week! As I’m preparing this article and looking through the beautiful art he sent me to be featured, I’m reminded of how one piece of God-given art can touch many of us in drastically different ways to minister to us exactly as we need. Our Father knows each of us so personally, and He communicates with us in the exact way He knows we can receive from His heart to ours. I hope this interview encourages you to ask for and receive your own gifts of creativity. No matter where you are. Whether you think you’re gifted or not. We are His beloved children, and we are all His favorites. We are spoiled by His love and there’s nothing as a doting dad, that He wouldn’t give us if we ask. If after reading this interview you find yourself asking the Lord for more, as I have, why don’t you pray with me for a fresh release …

Rachael Ritchey: Creative in Action

Interview by Bri Lassiter Bri Lassiter here. As an avid reader, it always adds a different layer of meaning to the books I’m reading when I get to know more about who an author is, and what inspires them to write.  I love hearing stories behind the stories, and I’m so excited that author Rachael Gartmen has afforded us such an encouraging snapshot of who she is and how she became the writer she is today.  Once upon a time a young sixth-grade girl, awkward and strange, looked at the prompt on the board and thrilled at the chance to explore the mysteries the inspiration might unlock… That was where my love of writing first took root: a bustling classroom on a little island in southeast Alaska. I loved the exploration of my imagination through that outlet. And for an introverted girl who didn’t seem to fit the mold, it helped me feel like maybe I had something interesting to say. Writing has given me the strength to say what I need without rambling or …

Bri Lassiter: Creative in Action

Bri Lassiter is part of the ICFTS Team. She is a Faithful friend, Believer in Christ, wife and mother. Here is her view of creativity as she takes her action steps to pursue the purpose Christ has placed upon her heart. I used to define creativity as “arts and crafts” and I completely excluded myself from all connection to the arts because I didn’t fit in my own narrow definition of it. Recently I began asking God what His dreams are for me, and he reminded me of a childhood love I’ve had for lettering and calligraphy. I had planned on going to an art school many years ago so I could pursue that love but I had been deeply discouraged by others in my life at the time who believed I could not and should not pursue that dream. I was completely brokenhearted about it and that’s when I started putting up walls by saying that I’m not creative and began defining creativity as “arts and crafts ” and believing it’s “not my thing.” …
