Refusing ‘Fake’ but Feeling Through Faith: Faith Emotions pt 1

“God can’t do anything with our ‘fake’, but He can do all things with our ‘faith’.” ~CANDICE COATES Not too long ago, I was surfing through my social media feed, and like many times before, I came across several posts saying, “Fake it til you make it,” or, “I’m just going to fake it til I make it.” I am sure, that you, like me, have seen or heard that saying before or have maybe even made it your mantra a few or more times during your life. This particular day, however, the Lord interrupted my social media perusal and said, “Candice, I can’t do anything with your ‘fake’, but I can do all things with your faith.” You see, we have been cultivated in a culture that has taught us that our true feelings and emotions are not only disturbing to others but sadly and falsely, unacceptable to display, especially before God. We have subconsciously embraced the ideology that says if we express any sign of fear, or anger, or pain, that we are …

No Room For Worry: Faith for Creatives

*Published May 5, 2019 “Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” ~ROMANS 5:5 Whatever it is within our hearts that is being hoped for, that is in accordance with Christ Jesus’ perfect will for our lives and purpose, we can have rest and full assurance that it will come to pass! So with this truth, where is there room for worry? There is no place for it at the table that the Lord is preparing for His children that rest in Him and believe. Today, push out any worry! Evict the “what-ifs”. If your Heavenly Father has promised you through His Word and Rhema that He would do a thing in your life, then rest in His living Hope that does not disappoint for all of His promises are yes and amen in Christ (II COR. 1:20)! ~Poiema, Poetry in Motion *Photo by Priscilla Du Preez on Unsplash

What It Takes: A Message For Success

“It takes time to be a success, but time is all it takes.” ~UNKNOWN What we desire in this life, what we aim to achieve if it is truly a worthy and honest endeavor it is worth the time it will take to make it manifest. Don’t allow the progress of others to discourage you in your journey. You are in a race against only one person; yourself. The prize at the end of this race is having achieved your highest potential. This crown only fits your head. The choice is yours. Time is in your hands. Determine to take one step at a time. *Revised from November 6, 2015 *Photo by Leon Macapagal on Unsplash

Guard Your Heart: Journies of Faith

“Guard your heart with all diligence for out of it spring forth the issues of life.” ~PROVERBS 4:23 The Lord has been telling me during this season not to allow the enemy to steal my joy. On the cuffs of that admonition, He in His grace, also reminds me that He has also been telling me to “not be nervous but to be expectant.” In all of this, with the ringing of the divine message saying, “guard your heart”, what came to mind was the image and scripture regarding the full armor of God. FULLY ARMED Reading the scriptures about the Armor the Lord calls us to equip ourselves with is how although He has instructed us to be fully dressed in this armor, He doesn’t tell us to fight. In fact, what He instructs us to do is to stand! “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” ~EPHESIANS 6:13 (See Eph. 6:10-20) The Lord wants us to …

A Word of Glory 2019: My Favorite Read

Although this prophetic word was shared on our Instagram page, it somehow managed to not be shared here. I am so grateful to the Lord that He has been nudging me to share this word that He gave to Briana Lassiter at the start of this 2019 year. This is such a needed reminder for all of us. God is not finished. The seasons are changing and the harvests is ours! A WORD OF GLORY FOR 2019 by Briana Lassiter “For many of His (God’s) Children, this year will bring a new season of growth, becoming established and settled and rooted and grounded in His love and His ways. This will be a spring season of growing and stretching, becoming deeply watered and the explosion of flowers where there was once dry cracked dust.” Wow! This makes my soul excited and reminds me of the scripture in Isaiah 43:18-19, “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make …

Todd Polyniak: Creative in Action

Interview by Briana Lassiter What a privilege it was for me to interview prophetic artist Todd Polyniak this week! As I’m preparing this article and looking through the beautiful art he sent me to be featured, I’m reminded of how one piece of God-given art can touch many of us in drastically different ways to minister to us exactly as we need. Our Father knows each of us so personally, and He communicates with us in the exact way He knows we can receive from His heart to ours. I hope this interview encourages you to ask for and receive your own gifts of creativity. No matter where you are. Whether you think you’re gifted or not. We are His beloved children, and we are all His favorites. We are spoiled by His love and there’s nothing as a doting dad, that He wouldn’t give us if we ask. If after reading this interview you find yourself asking the Lord for more, as I have, why don’t you pray with me for a fresh release …

Why The Bird Sings: Faith for Creatives

*Revised from August 3, 2015 “A bird doesn’t sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.” ~Maya Angelou We, as the artist and writers, the dreamers of the world, creative beings, fashioned in the likeness of our loving God and Father, share a beautiful thread of comradery with the birds who so sweetly sing. We write because we have a story to tell. We create because we have a vision. We dream because we have been blessed with a hope so gloriously written by Christ’s hands that we know it will not disappoint (ROM. 5:5). We don’t need to have the answers for every step we are led to take or the exact ins and outs that lead to our future goals in order to share something beautiful. We just need willing hearts to follow His lead and our voices ready to sing in the symphony of song that He has orchestrated for us! Lift up your voice, lift up your faith, and sing. “He has given me a new …

It is Finished: Faith for Creatives

“…It is finished!…” ~JOHN 19:30 The Lord God Yeshua Jesus Who was delivered up because of our offenses and was raised because of our justification has declared that it is finished (ROMANS 4:25)! Because He died, we live. Because He rose, we are justified! He is the firstfruits of all who are born again (I COR. 15:20)! It is finished…now we get to begin again each day with new mercies (LAMENTATIONS 3:22-23) and new opportunities to live to the fullness of life that He has purposed for each of us to have. Jesus’ Intent For Us All: Faith for Creatives

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” ~JEREMIAH 29:11 Things happen in life that are often times out of our control and more times than not outside of the will of God, even though He may allow them to happen. The goodness that we are blessed to drink and rest in, comes from the immutable truth that God is not surprised by the happenings of life, nor is He unable to take any circumstance and recycle it for our good (ISAIAH 61:3). Blessedly, that is exactly what He desires to do! Even from the very fall of man in the Garden of Eden, the Lord had already set up a plan for us all for our good, out of His abundant grace! Luke 2:14 encourages us that He delights in giving and pouring out His goodwill upon us all. “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” Be encouraged and rest in these truths …

Wrestling with Unbelief: The Strengthening of Faith

Wrestling with unbelief and doubt is nothing that we should be ashamed of. In all actuality, it is something that we should celebrate with joy. Why? Because it is a clear sign that we have enough faith on the level in our faith-walk that we are currently pressing in to press for more than what we have. We are wrestling with the limit of now until we breakthrough to greater levels of belief. We wrestle because we believe! If we were hope-less people, we would cease to ask God for more. We cease to ask the Lord to strengthen us to overcome the unbelief that is being exposed. The simple truth is that we pray for what we have hope for and what does the Word of God say about hope: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” ~HEBREWS 11:1 Our faith pushes us to pray for what we have hope for and what we hope for is more faith, especially in the area He is calling …
