When the Oil flows: Faith for Creatives

Revised from January 24, 2014 “Is there no balm in Gilead, is there no healer there? Why has the healing of the daughter of my people not come?” ~JEREMIAH 8:22  The answer to Jeremiah is, Yes there is a Balm and a Healer, and He has indeed come! Sometimes, the ups and downs of life have the ability to cause our hearts to grow hard as stone, even for those of us who belong to Messiah Yeshua, Christ Jesus. The encouraging thing is that even stones can’t help but soak up oil. When Yeshua Jesus, our Christ, pours His oil upon us, the oil will be soaked up and our wee little hearts will be healed and hard no more! There is relief in Him! I am learning that the soaking is not always instantaneous. Maybe I already knew that but I did not really give this truth much heed. But I believe we all need to. Consider the work of a massage therapist. You have trigger points in your muscles that are preventing you …

Growing in Grace & Favor: Faith for Creatives

“…but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.” II PETER 3:18 NKJV We are told in the Word to grow in favor/grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. It seems simple enough, and even obvious, really, which only begs the question, why the instruction. The answer? All of us at some point in time has struggled or will struggle with our position in Christ and the truly awesome, and completely free gift of unmerited favor. Knowing that in many things we will fail and fall short even as we walk with Him but yet are never disqualified from His grace is just mindblowing (ROMANS 5:20). The even bigger mind-blow is that when we fail and fall short, no matter how great our intentions to do good, it is His GRACE pouring out to us that brings us into deeper repentance (ROMANS 2:4). When we walk in unperfected love, and we all have, which is a fear of punishment, we don’t …

Come Out of the Poverty Mindset: A Prophetic Word by Bri Lassiter

A Message from Bri Lassiter: I’m excited to share this prophetic word as the Lord enables and prepares those entering a season of prosperity, to receive it. Just like Joseph experienced many different seasons in his lifetime, ranging from spoiled daddy’s boy who lacked nothing, to the pit, poverty, and slavery, to obtaining a favored position in a rich rulers house, to imprisonment again, and finally governing Pharoah’s house and guiding a nation through a famine, we too, experience both lack and prosperity in our lifetimes. The Lord sustained and prepared Joseph for each season, and he wants to do the same for us. “Learn how to trust Me and see My provision in times of lack, and learn how to take, as I bring you to a new season of authority and give you everything you need to do My will. Learn how to let go of fear, fear that I will not provide, fear there will not be enough, fear I will let you down. Trust who I Am, and My thoughts and …

Why The Bird Sings: Faith for Creatives

*Revised from August 3, 2015 “A bird doesn’t sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.” ~Maya Angelou We, as the artist and writers, the dreamers of the world, creative beings, fashioned in the likeness of our loving God and Father, share a beautiful thread of comradery with the birds who so sweetly sing. We write because we have a story to tell. We create because we have a vision. We dream because we have been blessed with a hope so gloriously written by Christ’s hands that we know it will not disappoint (ROM. 5:5). We don’t need to have the answers for every step we are led to take or the exact ins and outs that lead to our future goals in order to share something beautiful. We just need willing hearts to follow His lead and our voices ready to sing in the symphony of song that He has orchestrated for us! Lift up your voice, lift up your faith, and sing. “He has given me a new …

Blessed Under Pressure: Faith for Creatives

“…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”~PHILIPPIANS 1:6 As I sat, several years ago, and practiced calligraphy with a pen I had never used before, I noticed that when I didn’t apply the right amount of pressure with my hand, the inky lines would break and lose their fluidity. They lacked perfection. I continued to draw more curved lines all in the attempt to make the perfect, curvy, line with thick sections here and thin, fine sections there, repeating the pattern, all without breaks. As I continued to draw the Holy Spirit gave me a revelation. Just like with that pen in my hand, Christ Jesus is working with us in His hands. He is working with us to get us to do greater things that we have never done before. Just like with the pen, He must apply the right amount of pressure at the right time to get our ‘lines’ perfect, fluid, without breaks. The task …
