Abiding Fruitfulness: Summer Series Coming Next Week!

On Tuesday, July 9th ICFTS will be kicking off a Free 40-Day Community Teaching called Abiding Fruitfulness-Resting into Success, and we want you to join us! WHAT IS ABIDING FRUITFULNESS: “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.  You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.  Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” ~JOHN 15:1-5 In the Book of John chapter 15, the Lord Jesus tells us that He is the Vine and we are His branches and that if we abide in Him we will bear much fruit, that apart from Him we can do nothing at all. For the hustlers and …

Today is a Good Day: Being Grateful for Those Around Us

*Revised from November 18, 2016 “Today is a good day! Why? Because you’re in it, I’m in it, and we’re in it together! Praise Jesus for making this day!” ~CANDICE COATES The Psalmist said it best Psalm 118: 24 when they said, “This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.” What a blessing it is to not only know that the Word of the Lord is the truth, but to also choose to live it out. The glory of this life is that the Lord did not design it or us to do it alone (GENESIS 2:18). He created us as communal creatures, beings destined for relationship. When we take the time to celebrate those who the Lord has blessed us to do life with, whether that is for a season or for many years to come, we find it hard to not walk in joy. My prayer for each of us this week is to allow the Lord to shift our focus and to enable us …

The God of All Comfort: Faith for Creatives

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” ~II CORINTHIANS 3-4 I am so grateful for the Word of God that not only encourages us to keep the faith but encourages us with purpose as we continue forward in faith. The Lord Jesus Christ assured us of His great and many blessings to and for us, but in that, He also assured us that alongside the blessings there would be troubles and tribulations. Suffering, unfortunately, is a part of all of our faith walks varying from person to person and calling to calling. But one of the glorious things found in this is that through our own personal trials we are able to strengthen and encourage others who are walking alongside us as our Shepherd, Lord, and King, carries us. What better encouragement in a trial is …

Creatives in Action Coming Soon!!!

What is the first word that comes to mind when you hear the word, ‘creative’? Do you, like many people, think of a person who spends hours slinging paint on canvas or sewing stories on elaborate quilts? Maybe a singer, like Celine Dion comes to mind, and you, like me think, Wow, she is so whimsical. “…being a Creative goes beyond, but certainly encompasses, the creative passions of the visional, musical, and written arts, but it does not exclude other forms of creativity.”   The most important question to ask here, is do you picture yourself when you hear the word creative? If not, let this be the day that this changes. What does it even mean to be creative anyway? First, let’s define what it means to create. Create: transitive verb 1: to bring into existence … God created the heaven and the earth.  —Genesis 1:1 (King James Version) 2a : to invest with a new form, office, or rank  She was created a lieutenant. b : to produce or bring about by a course of action or behavior  Her arrival created a terrible fuss.  …

New Day Begins for ICFTS!

“Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”  ~Isaiah 43:19 The season changes. The smell in the air is different. The sky is painted with dusty roses early in the morning, and dusk comes sooner than it did before. Still, you wait in the tangent, as the temperature changes from balmy heat to skin tingling chill and the delight of donning your sweater…not so much because you like the woven threads but more than anything because it is new! Today is a new day for I came for the soup… and that feeling of delight washes through me (Candice) the same way it does when I realize that I am standing just at the doorway to Autumn, my absolute favorite time of the year. Once upon a time, ICFTS was a blog centered around my growth and discovery of my maturing and once stifled creative voice. Today the blog becomes a community, geared …
