Staying in Shalom by Briana Lassiter

As you read this, may the shalom of God cover you, keep you and enlighten you as you move from glory to glory, from grace to grace. ~Briana Lassiter I remember the first time the Lord told me that Shalom was not a location I would arrive at or something to achieve, it was a state of being. As it usually happens when the Lord tells me something new like this, I didn’t get it. When Jesus teaches me something, I like to know, “How does this practically affect my life, Lord?” Over the next few months, He began to show me that Shalom begins with a series of choices. It is almost an equation, x + y =? When x happens to y (you) what is the result? I believe every situation we encounter is a mathematical equation. If you don’t understand the process of solving the equation, it doesn’t matter what you come up with, you’re not going to get the right answer. However, if you know the process to solve the equation, …

A Time to Grow & A Time to Rest by Briana Lassiter

This week I was having a conversation with the Lord and telling Him how sorry I was that I haven’t made a lot of progress in my life or grown much lately. It’s been a difficult few months and life has not felt full of sunshine and rainbows. He startled me with His response as He asked me “Why do you think you need to grow right now daughter?” Recently He’s told me how much He dislikes it when I answer without thinking about what He’s asking me so I stopped and thought carefully for a minute. I came up with nothing and finally answered, “I don’t know Lord.” “What season is it?” He responded. “Winter, Lord?” “Yes. It is winter. What is growing now child? Nothing. Nothing is growing right now because it is not the time for growing.” As I realized that day in my talk with Jesus, there is a season for everything, and sometimes you are not in a season of growing and it is time to do something else. Over …

Not Just Favored, But the Favorite by Briana Lassiter

It’s God’s deep desire for us to know who we are to Him. We are the dreams from His heart that He brought to life, we are not just inheritors of all His promises and blessings, we are not just in a covenant familial relationship with almighty God; we are more than that. Each one of us is His favorite. In case you are questioning your place with Him today, or maybe you just don’t know what you are to Him or your place in His heart, I want you to know that there’s nothing He does not know about you, there’s nothing that is hidden from Him. He does not view you from your frame of reference, He sees you from His, everything you’ve ever been, and everything you will be, He sees. He treasures every moment you’ve made Him proud, and He cheers you on when you are struggling. He has never been passive toward you. No matter what you have seen or what your frame of reference has been, I want you …

The Triumph in the Trial by Briana Lassiter

When trials come at us it feels very overwhelming in the midst of it, and the unpredictability of whether or not we will make it through can try to weigh on us and make it feel impossible to ever come through at all, much less successfully. However before we ever even entered the trial, we have the predicted outcome already set, as it says in 2 Corinthians 2:14, “Now thanks be to God, which always causes us to triumph in Christ, and makes manifest the aroma of his knowledge by us in every place.” We can trust Him no matter what we are dealing with today, that in every situation He has an outcome of triumph for us. We can trust Him that whatever impossible situations we may face, nothing is impossible for Him, and He works all things together for our good because He loves us and has called us according to His purposes. Trust Him today to get you to your triumph, and allow the truth of what He Himself said to wash …

Healthy Holiday Hot Chocolate by Briana Lassiter

During the holiday months, sweets are eaten and drunk more often than any other time of the year, and the extra sugar can really do a number on an already struggling immune system. This cocoa recipe is our current favorite because not only does it satisfy that craving for a steaming cup of something sweet, it also boosts the immune system with ginger cinnamon and cloves which are all-powerful antivirals, additionally it’ll boost energy levels with the reishi and the super vitamin moringa and help you stay feeling great all season long! • heated almond milk • 1 tbsp organic cocoa • 2 tsp of honey • 1 scoop collagen powder • 1/8 tsp cinnamon • 1/4 tsp reishi mushroom powder • 1/8 tsp ginger • dash of cloves • 1/8 tsp moringa Blend all and enjoy! By Briana Lassiter I’m married to my dearest friend of 8 years and mom to an energetic 6-year-old. Making Friends with Failure by Briana Lassiter

This year I’ve had the joy of attending several different conferences that were very interactive and learning was encouraged by the act of doing. The first time I went I quietly observed and didn’t participate much. In a new group of people learning new things, it was not my comfort zone to participate and risk making mistakes and I left with a lot of unanswered questions. The next conference, Jesus helped me to get out of my comfort zone and be very hands-on, and because of my participation, I left with a very different learning experience. It can be extremely uncomfortable making mistakes, but when you are in a safe place where mistakes are part of the learning process that everyone benefits from as you learn, it accelerates your growth in a way that quietly refusing to participate never will. If you are experiencing fear of failure and it’s keeping you from your own learning process, be assured that your mistakes will not keep you from your Father or His approval of you. Divorce yourself …

The Blessing in Hunger: Faith for Creatives by Briana Lassiter

*Originally Published June 23, 2019 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.” ~MATTHEW 5:6 NKJV Do you find yourself bursting with questions, hard questions about God, about life, about purpose, about what is right and true? A lot of times we might feel discouraged while we wait for God to answer our hard questions, and yet here is our Savior saying, you are blessed for your hunger. And your hunger will be satisfied. Your questions will be answered. If you find yourself hungering after answers you have not received yet about who you are, who God is, or what your purpose is, you are blessed, and you can trust that He is building in you even now, the answers, and even now you are blessed to receive and know the truth of everything you’re hungry for. There may be a process to receiving, but you will still receive. He is a faithful God and He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it …
