Life Abundantly by Regina Hernandez

“The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but I have come so that they may have life and life more abundantly.” ~JOHN 10:10 After an unexpected surgery in December, I found myself in this really weird place. I was lacking motivation. Simple tasks felt impossible. I wasn’t feeling social at all, which is a bit uncharacteristic for me…and the worst was, despite life being in a pretty good place, I was carrying this overwhelming sense of sadness with me. Come to find out, post-op depression is a thing, and I was struggling. Once I identified what was going on, I decided to find a way to press into the Lord. I wanted to seek Him out in the midst of the struggle instead of embracing the depression and just trying to trudge through until it was over. As I spent time with Him, I started just writing out some of what was on my mind and what I wanted help to overcome. I wrote about how I felt like I was lacking motivation and …

Out to Abundance: Faith for Creatives

Revised from May 4, 2018 “…we went through fire and water, but you brought us out to abundance.” ~PSALM 66:12 Another translation of this portion of scripture says, “We went through the fire and through the water, but You brought us out to rich fulfillment.” Here is what we as Creatives and People of Faith have to take note of: THERE IS ‘PROCESS’ BEFORE ‘POSSESSION’. Before we are able to take hold of and step into the new level that God has for us, we must be prepared for it. Who we are before the process is not who we will be on the other side of it when we take possession of what the Lord has promised and called us to. Fire. Consider the occurrences of forest fires, not the ones that are caused by human negligence, but those that take place as a part of the circle of creation. These fires are natural. They may cause great devastation, but, they bring greater enrichment to the ecosystem. Water. Water, rain, are necessary for the nutrients to be able …

The Process of Patience: Power in the Process pt 1

“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him…” ~PSALM 37:7 Patience. For many, especially in the age of ‘hustle and grind,’ has become a foul word and even more a foreign concept to those who have a heart that beats to the tune of ‘do and achieve.’ Patience itself seems to be the very antithesis of progress and success itself, almost as if it is a waste of time. And waiting on the Lord, well, that seems to be a difficulty all its own. But oh is it so very worth it! First, let’s gain the understanding and the truth that more than you or I want to succeed, the Lord wants us to succeed even more. The glory and beauty of His desire and plans for us is that He is the one who planted those desires in us in the first place. He is the one who has written each of our stories from beginning to end, and He knows exactly what it is going to take to get us for beginning to glorious …

Your Inheritance is Secure

“The Lord assigned my portion and my cup. You maintain my lot secure.” ~PSALM 16:5 WMB In our journeys in our creativity, the pursuits of our dreams and just in life in general, I can’t think of a Word that brings more peace than Psalm 16:5. Stepping out in faith to take hold of what Christ Jesus has purposed in our hearts is an adventure, but it can also be a point of stress if we aren’t secure in the promises of His Word. First, let’s be reminded that the Word is Christ (JOHN 1: 1,14), that He is the Truth (JOHN 14:6) and there is no falsehood in Him (I PETER 2:22). So when we read a promise, all of which are yes and amen in Him (II COR. 1:20) and in the Word, we are reading or seeing into the Perfect Person of Who He is. We can count it as ours for He is ours just as we are His (SONG OF SONGS 6:3)! Another translation of Psalm 16:5 says, “O Lord, You are the …
