“Art is not about becoming rich. Art is about enriching the world.” ~Candice Coates

Quick View: I Came for the Soup” is about my exploration into my reawakened and somehow untapped creativity, through the expression of words, fiction, and visual art, seasoned with my faith. This Blog is me, chronicling my inward journey through outward vehicles of artistry, while hoping to encourage others to do the same.

  • My Vision: My vision is to grow and take advantage of artistic freedom. As an artist, I would like to harness a new level ofΒ  artistic expression. I want my writing to flow easily from my imagination into typed or written words, without hindrance, and over thinking. I mostly just want to have fun with the process in general. As I discover these things and sample different avenues of expression I will share.
  • My Voice: Even as I create with freedom I want to do so with purpose. I want to discover the voice of that purpose and speak it loud and clear.
  • My Doing: I want this blog and journey to be the catalyst for the creative and spiritual journeys and discoveries of others. I want to inspire my readers and watchers to create and grow, and inspire others to create and grow. I want to discover more of me and I want others to be inspired to discoverΒ  more of themselves.

  1. You speak so articulately and I also love your use of vocabulary. Thanks for including us on your journey. If you are a Christian you may enjoy my other blog at callforendurance.wordpress.com. Looking forward to reading more of your pieces and happy Monday, Candice!

    1. Thank you so much for your words! They warmed my heart πŸ™‚ And I am totally in love and devoted to Christ! I will check out your other blog as well. Thank you!

  2. Not quite sure how to contact you, so feel free to delete this comment if you don’t want it here. Just wanted to ask you if you would be willing to give me some constructive criticism on a novel chapter I just wrote. I could really use the perspective of a fellow Sci-fi writing Christian and woman.

    If yes, go here: https://wordpress.com/read/post/id/66659497/673

Then follow the link at the bottom to the prelude, which is what I really need some perspective on. The poem is a set up for the prelude chapter, and the prelude is like the crime at the beginning of a police drama.

    1. Hello there! Yes I would love to. I will check it out and get back to you soon. Btw your occasional browsing here helps a lot. You tend to point out site flaws I’ve overlooked. For instance making sure emailing me is a clear and easy thing to do. Thank you!
