“A bird doesn’t sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.” ~Maya Angelou
We, as the artist and writers, the dreamers of the world, creative beings, fashioned in the likeness of our loving God and Father, share a beautiful thread of comradery with the birds who so sweetly sing.
We write because we have a story to tell. We create because we have a vision. We dream because we have been blessed with a hope so gloriously written by Christ’s hands that we know it will not disappoint (ROM. 5:5).
We don’t need to have the answers for every step we are led to take or the exact ins and outs that lead to our future goals in order to share something beautiful. We just need willing hearts to follow His lead and our voices ready to sing in the symphony of song that He has orchestrated for us!
Lift up your voice, lift up your faith, and sing.
“He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.” ~ PSALM 40:3 NLT

Thank you for that. Maya is one of the sweetest spirits I have every read. My introduction to her was when she read the inaugural poem for Bill Clinton in 1992. Before then, I had never heard of her, but from then till she died (and I cried that day), she has poured out some of the most beautiful words from the heart that ever moved me. I still read her “On the Pulse of the Morning” aloud before my students every year.
Reading your comment put a smile on my face. I am glad this moved you as it did. Maya Angelou was such a beautiful weaver of words. I think it’s awesome that you share her art with others. She is still such a great inspiration.
You might see the mural portrait I did of a young Maya Angelou. It’s in the Murals tab of my website http://www.recollections54.com.
I will go and take a look. Thank you for sharing. I am also inspired to go and read more of her work. I think I began to admire her several years ago when she did an interview on Oprah. Her poise and grace was breathtaking.
