Our Favorite Reads!: Single While Serving & The Blessing in Both

Hello Creatives! This summer we, at ICFTS, are compiling a list of Our Favorite Reads, articles, and teachings that blessed us the most. Both Briana & Candice will be sharing their favorite reads and giving a quick explanation of why they love them so much. Below is our first Favorite Read, by Briana Lassiter.

Over the three years that I (Briana) have been blessed to be acquainted with the ministry and writings of Candice Coates. There have been many things she has written that have spoken joy and life to my spirit, and I’m really excited to share my personal favorites of the articles she’s written, that others may not have had a chance to read and love as I have!

Funny enough, one of my favorite things she’s written is entitled “Single While Serving & The Blessing in Both.” And while I personally haven’t been single for almost 10 years, the truths in the article don’t care what your situation is, and they resonate fiercely whatever your relationship status.

I think wherever you are in your walk with Christ, you’ll be able to read the story of Boaz and Ruth with fresh eyes and new understanding and get something unexpected as I have, from this often told story.

Hopefully, as you read the following expert (which is my favorite part of the whole thing) and the rest of the article, you will be as blessed as I was.

“But there is something divine to be learned about the story of Boaz and Ruth, something that I think many of us in the Body of Christ have missed and that is both Boaz and Ruth made peace with their circumstances and yet were diligent to do the work set before them to the glory and honor of God.” ~SINGLE WHILE SERVING & THE BLESSING IN BOTH BY CANDICE COATES

Bri Small headshotI’m married to my dearest friend of 8 years and mom to an energetic 6-year-old. My greatest joys come from traveling with my little family, cooking for appreciative recipients, learning herbalism and natural medicine, and every experience I get to have in prayer ministry. I’m an avid tea and book lover and can’t get enough of either. I love Jesus and the daily adventure that comes from walking in friendship with him as he arranges and rearranges my story.
