Begin: Poses the Promise

Begin: Take your steps in faith toward your promise and promised land.

“… And Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him: “You know the word which the Lord said to Moses the man of God concerning you and me in Kadesh Barnea. I was forty years old… …but I wholly followed the Lord my God. So Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land where your foot has trodden shall be your inheritance and your children’s forever, because you have wholly followed the Lord my God.’… …here I am this day, eighty-five years old. 11 As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. 12 Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day…”~ JOSHUA 14:6-12*

Breathe. Breathe in the Rhema word of truth daily and let your soul be at peace. Believe. Believe what has been said to you by His Spirit…And now, begin.

After allowing his mind to be conformed to the Rhema Word of promise, after having walked in the wilderness for 45 years, persevering in the wait and the process of being made ready to take possession of the promise by believing God for it, now Caleb stands to take his mountain.

In Proverbs 4:25, we read, Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.”

The biggest part of taking possession of what the Lord has promised us is to begin the process with focus.

It is not a difficult thing to find our eyes wondering in every direction but the one that we should be fixed upon. It happens. The Lord knows that and that is exactly why He instructs us to keep our eyes looking ahead.

He encourages us in Isaiah that as we step in faith if we find that we are getting off track that He will tell us by His Holy Spirit, “This is the Way. Walk in it.”

Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.” ~ISAIAH 30:21

To begin our process of possession, we simply need to take our first steps in faith and trust Him to guide where our feet must fall in order to walk in success and possess that which has been promised and prepared for us.

Caleb emphasis his trust in the Lord, trusting that He will be with, not only himself but others who are set to take hold of their promise. (JOSHUA 14:12)

From the very moment he saw his promise, Caleb believed that success was his because the Lord was with them.

Caleb was truly a ‘Squared’ man.

Being ‘SQUARED’ is cultivated in our breathing in the word of promise, daily. Being squared is believing in the God who has promised and in the very promise given regardless of the odds set against you.

BEING SQUARED IS STEPPING OUT IN CONFIDENT FAITH IN GOD

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” ~HEBREWS 11:6

Caleb knew this truth long before the author of Hebrews penned those words. He stands as proof positive that the truth of those words have indeed been tried and found…true!

But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: “The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.’ Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.”~NUMBERS 13:6-9

Caleb even goes as far to affirm in faith, that the giants of the land shall be as bread for him to devour because the Lord is with Him. (NUMBERS 14:9) And that is exactly what those giants became the moment the proverbial gate was open and Caleb took up his sword against them and walked toward his promised mountain.

14 Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel. 15 And the name of Hebron formerly was Kirjath Arba (Arba was the greatest man among the Anakim). Then the land had rest from war.” ~JOSHUA 14:14-15

What giants stand upon your path and the mountain of promise the Lord has for you? Let the be as bread for you because the Lord is with you!

What the Lord promises is surely yes and amen (II COR. 1:20)!

BEGIN

Begin by staying focused on the promise set before you. The ‘mountain’ is yours, go poses it!

Begin by believing the Lord is guiding you and as you continue to seek His face and counsel He will keep you on track.

Begin by remaining in confidence that because He is with you, you will be successful.

Breathe through the fear by taking hold of faith. Believe Christ Jesus is certainly with you during the process, and Begin to take possession by walking in faith in Him Who has promised!

    • Amen! I was and still am so excited about this series! I’ve been encouraged by it myself and more than a little reminded to remain steadfast in faith. Thanks for letting me know that you too have been blessed! I will say a prayer for you and your journey toward taking your mountain!
