The Kingdom: Scripture of Joy and Peace

Romans 14:17 “…the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but RIGHTEOUSNESS, PEACE and JOY in the Holy Spirit.”

I had the pleasure of reading a morning devotional by Pastor Joseph Prince (www.josephprince.org) and this was the highlighted scripture.

The Kingdom of God, he explained, is not outward, found in good deeds of self merit, but the Kingdom is inward, found in the wellspring of our souls having been filled with the Holy Spirit. From there flows outward to others, expressions of Righteousness, Peace and Joy.

(John 7:37-39) “37Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. 38“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” 39But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.”

Be filled, beloveds, and let this Kingdom come!

Cheers!
