Silence: A Poem

Can I speak the words that tease my tongue

The twisted winding of a world undone

With easy cadence

Soft as the stream

Of hope and wishes

Still left to dream

And yet my silence holds me still

The battle raged of heart and will

Til yet no more the words hold light

But drift upon the darkest night
