What’s On My Mind: Musing With A Smile

What’s on my mind? Lots of stuff! And all of that stuff makes this girl REALLY happy πŸ™‚

All of it has to do with the expectation of having the most super-awesome week. Let’s be honest, life can throw some pickles into our paths, but just like those lemons, we have got to do something good with them. Make burgers with pickles on them to go with all that lemonade we have sitting around.

But, no, I don’t have any pickles or lemons, I just have a lot of creativity glowing all around and through me, and the fact that I get to harness it really makes me smile.

Yeshua Jesus is SOOOOO GOOOD!

One of the things I am happy about is my writing. If you haven’t noticed, I just put up my post for this weeks Monday’s Muse writing prompt challenge. (Click HERE to check it out, and give it a try.) What has me so excited is that I also finished up my entry for that very post, in 20 minutes, and I am super excited about it.

Generally, we as the authors and artist tend to be our own worst critics, but today, at this moment, I am patting myself on the back. I really like the characters that came out of this writing prompt AND the potential novel that lies ahead.

I am almost tempted to post my results now…alas I do have some level of self control that will keep me from doing it. So Thursday it is!

I have also been stirring the pots of four different novels at the same time! Two are finished (well one got a restart moment…Ascension Graveyard) and two are just in the stage of gestation and formation. I have been writing the scenes as they come and celebrating the future tasking of knitting everything together.

The mind, the creative mind, is such an amazing thing. NONE of these stories are in anyway related as far as genre goes. Let’s see, I have A paranormal Science FictionΒ novel, A time travel Science Fiction (related but not really to the other…science fiction is broad), a Fantasy, and…wait for it….A CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE.

Yes! That’s right! I am working on a Clean Read Chick Lit Novel!

Craziness! But it is so fulfilling.

And did I mention the art that keeps flashing in my head? Gosh, I hope to get one of those images translated so that I can share it with you all. Tis a goal for the week!

Alright, I will cease my rambling, but do partake in a happy dance with me. You will be all the better for it, and think of all the calories you will burn πŸ˜‰

  1. Hi Candice – You sound on top of the world! A wonderful thing! I absolutely will share a happy dance with you. πŸ˜€

I’ve just cleared a bunch of writing-hassles and creative knots (tangles), and made some changes to one character’s attitude, which was essential (which means a total rewrite of one of the threads). I’m a way off yet from finishing my manuscript, but before I launch into a fresh reread and begin to wrestle (play?) with what needs to come, I’ve decided to take a day or so off and catch up with Ascension Graveyard.

I’m starting over as it’s been such a long time – and all this while I’ve wanted to know what happens next!

Cheers to you! Have a wonderful day.

    1. Thank you for sharing my dance! πŸ˜€ I haven’t yet posted my “rewritten” chapters for it but thus far there haven’t been too many BIG changes. I think they will take place around chapter 14. And I have to give you applause for taking some time off from your work. That can be hard but oh so necessary. Gotta stretch in between reps right? πŸ˜‰

      1. Absolutely. It’s too easy to get bogged down otherwise.

I’m enjoying the reread of AG so far, and I will undoubtedly read your rewrite when you have it up. Your characters are very alive, which is why I want to find out what happens to them.

It’s also just plain great to catch up with you. πŸ™‚

      2. I have missed you loads! You are like my marathon partner you know, I don’t think I would have gotten this far without AG without your comments and encouragement so thanks loads. You also enrich the blogging world in my opinion πŸ˜€ Just all around good people, you are. And actually I think it is fantastic you are reading over the old work, that way when you see what it looks like, reworked you will be able to say, either “Good choice in changing this, Candice.” or “Dear woman, what were you thinking?! undo this mess you have made.” πŸ˜‰

      3. What a lovely thing to say! I feel that way about you too. I love your energy and optimism and when you put those things alongside creativity and talent – and you have heaps of both – you’ve got something special. Blogsville is a richer place with you in it.

I also look forward, when the time comes, to letting you know what I think about the changes you’ve made. I don’t think for a moment that I will be disappointed. πŸ˜€

      4. I will have you know you have given me that needed push for a second wind to dive right back into my daily revisions. So thank you loads. So glad to know you!

  2. Reading this post instantly put me in a good mood. πŸ™‚ I love the positivity, it’s hard to find. haha Good luck with you projects! I need to keep working on mine. I’ve been slacking off just a little bit.

    1. πŸ˜€ Lemonade and Burgers, its all in the meal lol. Thank you for the well wishes. I am really at a place where I feel like I am creating without distraction and that is BIG. Yes, focusing on one story while two are talking at the same time can be a little maddening, but in a good way! I will take your comment about you slacking off as a sign that you are getting yourself back in the game, imagination and muse at the ready!

  3. Awesome! That burger looks delicious!! πŸ˜€

A fantasy and a time travel sci-fi? I like the sound of those! πŸ˜‰ Congratulations on an awesome week!

    1. πŸ˜€ Fantastic! Glad I could share some joy with others…and my less than stellar dance moves πŸ˜› I have been told I have the dancing grace of a bull in a china store.

  4. Create on my friend!! Wish you could bottle that creativity and sell it, LOL, I could sure use some. FOUR novels? I will be happy when I get just the idea for one, and maybe an outline and some characters. Ooooohhh contemporary romance, can’t wait!! OK…twist my arm…I will partake in the happy dance with you, πŸ™‚ I’m off to read your Monday Muse. Happy Week to you!!

    1. LOL That would be something if I could bottle it up alas I would give it away for FREE! On the novels, I have spent the last couple of hours typing away. Of course I am writing out of order but you have to write what comes to you when it comes to you. Contemporary Romance is a challenge for me as I never really fancied myself a fan of the genre, but these characters popped in my imagination and their stories just drew me in and here I am! Hopefully my efforts will be worth the tome it takes to make each story a novel. Thanks for dancing along! Oh and you TOTALLY have some novel material in your blog battle entries.

  5. Wow, way to go! *cheers* Four novels at once, that is quite an undertaking! I’m glad you are enjoying it, and have so much creativity.
    I love pickles. πŸ™‚
